Mail Merge
Letters, postcards, envelopes, etc.

In this part we will insert a copy of the data file into MS Word and create the form we will use in the merge.

As we learned previously, click in the upper left corner of the grid to Select All (Ctrl+A) the data on the sheet.  Then click Edit -> Copy (Ctrl+C) to place the data in the Windows Clipboard.

Next open Word. Click
Edit -> Paste and the copy of your database will appear in the document.

Save to \My Documents\MailMerge\mergedata.doc  then close the document.

You will now design your form.  This design can be envelopes, large shipping labels or a form.   The example below is designed for a #9 dual window envelope. Using a form such as this eliminates the need for a return address stamp or label and an address label.  (Not to mention reducing lots of hand labor.)

Note the location of the 3 dots.  These are the positions for the Name, Address, City, State and Zip fields.

Once you have finished designing your form, Save to \My Documents\MailMerge\template.doc
Once you have saved your template,  click  Next
